Peer evaluators are the first layer in the multi-tiered accreditation decision-making process, and they are very important. They visit institutions going through various accreditation reviews, either in person or by looking over written reports and supporting evidence. They are essential to the peer review process. Decisions on accreditation and preaccreditation (Candidacy) are actively influenced by peer evaluators. Peer assessors carefully consider whether the institution complies with the accreditation standards specified in wdohec's Standards for Accreditation, Requirements of Affiliation, policies and procedures, and any federal regulatory requirements while keeping the institution's goals in mind.
The public is being asked to provide input on proposed changes to our Accreditation Standards and Requirements of Affiliation by the World Department of Higher Education Commission (wdohec). Visit the 2022 Periodic Review of wdohec Standards for Accreditation homepage and listen to a recorded message from wdohec President Dr. Heather F. Perfetti to learn more and get involved.
